Same as last year, retired government servants all over India will scramble to deposit Life Certificate to Government of India. Submission of Life Certificate is necessary to receive disbursal of pensions in their bank accounts. This year too, the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare will launch Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign in November 2025. This campaign will cover about 2000 districts across India.
Digital Life Certificates is also known as Jeevan Pramaan. The pensioners need to submit DLC between Nov 1 and Nov 30 to continue receiving their pension uninterrupted. For pensioners having age of 80 years and above, the window of submission of DLC was open since Oct 1. The intent is to make the process so simple that no pensioner misses the deadline.
Agencies Involved
The drive is being organized in coordination with 19 banks disbursing pensions, India Post Payment Bank, Department of Telecommunication, Railways, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Pensioners’ Welfare Associations. The idea is to reach pensioners in rural and remote area, holding more than 300 camps and visiting homes and hospitals of aged and ill pensioners.
Digital Life Certificate or Jeevan Pramaan
It is an Aadhar-based biometric digital certificate. It certifies electronic verification of a pensioner without visiting any government office. To generate the certificate, the Aadhar number and biometric authentication is done. DLC needs to be submitted every year, as it is not valid for life.
How To Generate DLC?
To generate DLC, a pensioner must provide their name, mobile number, Pension Account Number, PPO number, name of sanctioning authority, and Aadhar number. There are three ways to generate and submit DLC.
- Through a postman or a bank representative – doorstep service
- Jeevan Pramaan Portal via Aadhar authentication
- Submission at designated bank branches or government offices
